Welcome to UA Local Union No. 21
Since 1896, our members have been Plumbing and Steamfitting in the Hudson Valley. The charter and history of Local 21 dates back to 1997, however we're made up of 7 local unions who over the last 100 years consolidated to form our local.
The Leadership and Members of United Association, Local 21, would like to welcome you to our website where you can find a great deal of information about us. The Plumbers, Steamfitters, and HVAC Service Technicians of Local 21 work on projects of all shapes and sizes. We are actively working at the IBM Plant in Fishkill, the Nuclear Power Plant at Indian Point, and on high rise luxury apartment building such as those in New Rochelle and White Plains. We work on our areas educational institutions such as: elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities, both in the public and private sector. We can also be found working on industrial and commercial facilities of all sizes as well as residential developments and private homes.
Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 21 is vital to many industries throughout the Hudson Valley and it's because of our highly skilled workforce. We are over 1,500 members strong and growing. We pipe a 4 county area within our Jurisdiction and we are always looking for the best and brightest that our region has to offer. UA Local Union No. 21 - Apprenticeship
Applications will be available starting Monday 12/03/18 thru Friday 12/14/18 at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #21 Training Center, 1024 McKinley Street, Peekskill, NY. All applications must be picked-up in person between the hours of 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. during the application period. The Department of Labor dictates when this application process will be made available and we will post it to our website at that time.
The Education and Apprenticeship Committee requires that all applicants:
- Be at least 18 years old (Proof must be submitted at the time of selection).
- Have a high school or general equivalency diploma (Proof must be submitted at the time of selection).
- Have reliable transportation to work sites and instruction classes.
- You must have residence in Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, or Ulster County.
- You must pay a $10 non-refundable application fee (check or money-order). This fee may be waived for anyone who can verify that this would create an economic hardship.
